Law professor Jonathan Turley appeared on the Sean Hannity show and challenged the left’s celebration of its midterm victory. He warned that voter satisfaction could fade quickly once Democrats reveal what they intend to do with congressional power, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.
Turley argued that Democrats lack solutions for the problems they claimed to campaign on during the election. Instead of delivering constructive economic changes, he predicted they would pursue investigations, lawfare, and impeachment attempts.
Turley said, “[DSA wing] will have oversize power in Congress. THIS WILL BE A TRAIN WRECK…they don’t have the votes to move these reforms. That’s the reason they’ll turn to investigations and impeachments.”
His warning centered on the gap between Democratic campaign promises and what the party can accomplish in Congress. Turley specifically pointed toward the economy as an area where voters could become disappointed.

“People are gonna realize they didn’t offer any actual, constructive ideas about how to improve the economy,” Turley said.
Democrats ran on affordability and now will hold the gavels, but the left is already pressing for subpoenas. That gives Turley’s prediction of rapid buyer’s remorse plenty of political fuel.
Turley also addressed the approaching congressional clash on his blog. He highlighted a message from Rep. Robert Garcia of California, the expected chair of the House Oversight Committee, shortly after Democrats retook power in the House of Representatives.
Garcia posted a blunt two-word warning: “Lawyer up.” According to Turley, far-left politicians and pundits across the country then demanded investigations and impeachments once Democrats assume control of both houses.
Turley compared those activists to a nation of Madame Defarges eagerly compiling names of targets. The first name he cited was Haley Stevens, who split her ticket to vote against Abdul El-Sayed.
The reaction was not limited to elected officials. Turley noted that various sites were publishing lists of possible targets while influencers joined the calls for political punishment.

Turley argued that conditions on Capitol Hill will make this brand of rage politics even more attractive during the new Congress. Democrats secured a large margin in the House, but that margin is not enough to overcome a presidential veto.
Overriding a veto requires two-thirds of both houses. That leaves Democrats without the votes needed to push through the reforms demanded by the party’s base.
Impeachment presents another major obstacle because conviction also requires a two-thirds vote. Investigations, however, remain available as a product Democratic leaders can deliver to activists demanding proof that the party is taking action.
Under Turley’s assessment, congressional deadlock will not calm the left’s demands. It could instead direct Democratic energy toward subpoenas, investigations, and impeachment efforts that do not require the party to enact its economic agenda.
The midterm result represents a huge setback for the right, but the left now faces its own political test. Democrats must reconcile promises about affordability with a Congress where Turley says they lack the votes to move their proposed reforms.
That collision between campaign rhetoric and congressional reality is the heart of Turley’s buyer’s remorse prediction. If Democrats answer legislative paralysis with investigations and weaponization, voters could quickly decide that the promised solutions were never coming.
