U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee publicly dismantled Tucker Carlson’s claim that the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem ignored an American citizen who was allegedly attacked by Israeli settlers in Judea and Samaria. Huckabee called Carlson “deranged” and released a detailed timeline of embassy outreach.

Carlson posted video footage on X on October 29, 2026, describing it as “unreleased.” He accused Huckabee of abandoning an American who Carlson said had been beaten nearly to death the previous week.

“Ambassador Huckabee, this is unreleased video of an American who was beaten almost to death last week by Israeli settlers. You know his name because he came to you for help, but you blew him off. That’s disgraceful. Do your job,” Carlson wrote.

Carlson tagged Huckabee, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and the White House in the post. Huckabee responded within hours through his own X account, directly challenging Carlson’s version of events and laying out the embassy’s contacts with the family.

“Please follow this entire thread. Tucker Carlson is deranged. He accuses me personally of ignoring a US citizen allegedly attacked in Judea/Samaria by Israelis & says I ‘blew him off.’ Tucker knows how to contact me, but he’d rather make unfounded accusations than get facts,” Huckabee wrote.

According to Huckabee, the embassy’s American Citizen Services unit never spoke directly with the father who was allegedly injured in Turmusaya. Communication instead went through the man’s son in Chicago, who insisted on serving as the sole point of contact.

Huckabee said the son repeatedly declined to provide direct telephone numbers for his father or other relatives. The timeline also described multiple emails, telephone calls, hospital contact attempts, and requests from embassy staff for information needed to reach the man.

On October 19, American Citizen Services received an email from the son alleging that his father had been attacked by settlers at his Turmusaya home. The son said his father was receiving treatment at Istishari Hospital in Ramallah.

Embassy staff called the son that same day and requested contact information for his father, but the son was unwilling to provide it, according to Huckabee’s account. Staff then sent a follow-up email seeking the information.

On October 20, embassy staff sent another email requesting contact details. After the son asked for a telephone call, staff called twice without receiving an answer and also tried several times to contact the hospital in Ramallah, but those attempts were unsuccessful.

The son wrote on October 21 that his father was undergoing surgery. Embassy staff later spoke with him, and he said he would provide contact information for the next of kin in the West Bank, but the embassy never received it.

According to the timeline, the son also said the family did not want to pursue the matter with local authorities. Instead, the family wanted assurances that relatives traveling from the United States would not be denied entry.

Embassy staff spoke with the son again on October 22. In a later email, the son wrote: “Thank you for taking the time to speak with me and for your understanding regarding the tragic incident involving my father. Thank you again for your time, support, and assistance during this difficult time.”

The embassy responded by again asking for direct contact with the father or uncle and requesting local telephone numbers, but none were provided. The son later sent medical reports and photographs of his father’s wounds while continuing to seek assurances concerning relatives traveling and entering the area.

On October 23, embassy staff called the hospital but were unable to reach the father. Three days later, staff called the son in Chicago, received no answer, and left a message asking whether the man’s brother and mother had arrived.

That October 26 message also requested contact numbers, but the embassy received no response or numbers. Huckabee’s timeline therefore described repeated attempts to contact the injured man, his relatives, and the hospital, despite Carlson’s accusation that the ambassador had simply blown him off.

Huckabee ended his response with a pointed demand for Carlson to acknowledge the record he had released. “Tucker, you can apologize when you find your conscience & acknowledge the facts.”
