Heidi Klum is preparing to unleash another elaborate Halloween transformation, and the first glimpse is every bit as grotesque as fans might expect. The supermodel teased her mysterious 2026 costume on Instagram Saturday, one week before her annual Halloween party, as reported by Page Six.
The tightly cropped image revealed little about the finished creation. What it did show appeared slimy, monstrous, and deliberately unpleasant, leaving followers to decipher what Klum might be planning.
Klum, 53, offered no clear explanation alongside the unsettling preview. Instead, she invited speculation by writing, “What’s my costume? One week to go…. #HeidiHalloween.”

Her followers quickly responded with a wide range of guesses. Suggestions stretched from the coral reef in St. Barts to the mushroom zombie featured in “The Last Of Us.”
Another commenter suspected the answer might involve something aquatic. The fan guessed, “Something under water,” although Klum did not confirm whether any of the theories were correct.
The secrecy is part of the spectacle surrounding Klum’s annual celebration. She is known for dramatic Halloween transformations that demand complete commitment, hours in makeup and substantial time devoted to creating each costume.
Last year, Klum hosted her 24th annual Halloween Party at the Hard Rock Hotel New York. She walked her own red carpet dressed as Medusa, the figure from Greek mythology.
Her husband, Tom Kaulitz, joined her while dressed as a concrete soldier. Klum’s detailed Medusa costume featured green scales that continued into a rattlesnake’s tail, along with animatronic snakes replacing her hair.
The costume was also painted by hand, adding another intricate element to the elaborate transformation. Its scales, extended tail and moving snakes delivered the kind of visually overwhelming reveal associated with Klum’s Halloween appearances.
As this year’s party approaches, the mother of four has been revisiting some of her most memorable costumes. She has shared throwback pictures on social media as part of a countdown to the annual event.
Those past transformations include a worm, an old lady, an alien and a peacock. Klum has also dressed as E.T. and a skinless human body, among other outrageous creations.
The latest Instagram teaser was not her only clue on Saturday. Klum also posted video to her Instagram Stories showing herself browsing inside a fabric store, apparently in connection with the costume she is preparing.
She had already revealed last month that work on the Halloween creation was underway. During a conversation with People, she offered a cryptic hint linking the costume to wine and plenty of blood.
“It goes very well with red wine,” Klum told the outlet. She then added, “It’s very, very bloody.”
Klum expanded on that gruesome theme by describing the thoughts that can accompany a glass of wine and a blood transfusion bag. Her comments strongly emphasized that this year’s look would lean into the gory side of Halloween.
“A great glass of wine is always fun… and most of the time you think of something gory when you have a blood transfusion bag,” she shared. “That’s what Halloween is all about. We go gory, and we go there.”
For now, Klum is keeping the full creation concealed while offering only carefully selected fragments. Between the slimy Instagram image, the fabric store visit and her bloody hints, the costume remains a mystery with one week left before its scheduled unveiling.
