Former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt is circulating a book proposal to publishers amid what the source calls “Midterm Madness,” according to sources who spoke exclusively to Page Six Hollywood. The project could open a revealing new chapter on her time inside President Trump’s White House.
Specifics of the proposal making the rounds are being kept under wraps. Sources said the book will include behind the scenes details from Leavitt’s tenure as the youngest person ever to serve as White House press secretary under Trump.
Leavitt, 29, stepped down in August to spend more time with her children and her husband, Nicholas Riccio, 61. She is returning to her previous position at MAGA Inc., a political action committee supporting Trump, and her White House replacement still has not been found.
The possible material extends beyond daily briefings and into the inner workings of the Washington, DC, media world. Leavitt has already begun recounting Beltway stories publicly, offering a glimpse of what the proposed volume might contain.
Last week, she joined Fox News host Sean Hannity on his “Hang Out with Sean Hannity” podcast and described a sharp divide in her dealings with reporters. She said the relationship could look different on camera and away from it.
“There’s been times reporters have even said to me, ‘I’m sorry I had to ask that today, you know, my bosses really wanted me to ask that,'” she said.
“They know it’s an unfair question but they’re not in control of their own, like, livelihood. They are dictated by the editors and the execs at some of these companies.”

Leavitt also shared private Trump administration anecdotes that angered some MAGA pundits. One story involved a private lunch in the UK with former UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and senior staffers.
“We’re sitting around the table, and we’re all enjoying lunch, and we’re in this beautiful place, and the president just starts ripping into him for his policies,” she said.
“‘Your policies here are so stupid, you need to close your borders,'” the former spox said Trump told the PM. “‘You need to deport these people you have in your country. I know your country and I know your people, they hate what you’re doing.'”
Leavitt also recalled the response inside the room, including an exchange of looks with White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller. She described staffers bracing themselves as Trump continued speaking to Starmer.

“Starmer’s just sitting there… in his house, in his country. We’re not even at the White House, we’re not even on our own territory and he’s just… I remember [White House deputy chief of staff] Stephen Miller and I looking at each other like, ‘Oh boy, here we go.'”
The account quickly drew criticism from Newsmax host Greg Kelly, who blasted Leavitt on social media over the weekend. He objected to a former press secretary discussing private meetings involving the president and world leaders.
“Unbelievable. So now that she’s an Ex press secretary… Leavitt GOSSIPS about PRIVATE meetings the President had with world leaders?” Kelly wrote.
Kelly also accused Leavitt of speaking carelessly during “MIDTERM MADNESS” and characterized the interview as a breach of trust involving both Trump and the nation. He capped his furious reaction with, “So IMMATURE!!!!”
Trump, however, had already made his disdain for Starmer public. In June, he posted that the politician had “failed badly” on immigration and energy, predicted that he would lose his job and added, “I wish him well!”

Since Leavitt departed, the White House press pool has faced shock waves as Trump attempted to ban CNN, MS NOW and Politico. Reports citing multiple sources behind the scenes said the move would not have happened under Leavitt.
The administration publicly defended Trump’s actions involving the outlets. “Nobody close to the president was surprised at his action to hold the fake news accountable,” it said.
A lengthy list of possible replacements has emerged, including former Trump attorney Alina Habba, Breitbart Washington bureau chief Matthew Boyle and former White House communications staffer Taylor Budowich. Current White House comms director Steven Cheung has also been mentioned.
Other reported contenders include former Elon Musk aide Katie Miller, White House deputy press secretary Anna Kelly and US chief of protocol Monica Crowley. CNN commentator Scott Jennings and former TV news anchor Kari Lake have also been named as possibilities.
